(Complete Guide) Cook Chicken Breast on George Foreman Grill

There are multiple ways you can cook your chicken breast. You can use your oven to cook it. You can also cook chicken breast on George Foreman grill (or any indoor grill). George Foreman grill is known for its ease and convenience. In this post, we will show you how long to cook chicken breast on George Foreman grill.

How Long To Cook Chicken Breast on George Foreman Grill

This is one of my most favorite chicken recipes. In this easy recipe, I have used an already marinated boneless skinless chicken breast on George Foreman grill. The marinade helps in cooking the chicken breast on George Foreman grill evenly. This will help in achieving juicy results. A few hours before cooking, remove chicken from the refrigerator.

Cooking time varies depending on the size and thickness of your chicken breast. If the chicken breast is thick, you can cook it for 5-6 minutes each side.

We’ll be using boneless skinless chicken breasts with thickness of 3/8 of an inch.

Our chicken breasts are marinated in a simple dressing. This is an easy way to ensure that the chicken breast is tender and juicy.

Ingredients

8 oz. boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 tbsp. olive oil 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp. honey

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, turn it around to coat it in the marinade.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. Preheat your George Foreman Grill. It takes about 5 to 6 minutes. Make sure the grill is clean before turning it on/plugging it in, closing the lid, and waiting for it to heat up! Although most simple Foreman grills lack temperature controls, those that have should always be set to the highest setting.
  5. Place the chicken breasts on a grill pan on your preheated grill and allow them to cook for 5 to 6 minutes with the lid closed. 

Larger chicken breasts may take a minute or two longer to cook. The recommended cooking time for a thin 6 to 10 oz breast is about 5 to 6 minutes. When using an instant read thermometer, be sure the interior temperature of the chicken breast is 165 degrees F. 

By the way, if you don’t have an instant read meat thermometer, you should get one right away. It’s a tremendous help when it comes to getting meat to the right internal temperature.

6. Remove the chicken breasts from the George Foreman grill and serve with your favorite sauce, such as ketchup or chimichurri. Enjoy!

Tips for Preparing Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast

A good rule of thumb is to use chicken breast that is fresh and not frozen. This will ensure that the chicken breast is tender and juicy. Thickness of the chicken breast will also affect the cooking time.

If you have a thick chicken breast, you might need to increase the cooking time. If your chicken breast is thin, you can reduce the cooking time. It is a good idea to cook your chicken breast on George Foreman grill until it is cooked through.

If you are using frozen chicken breast, you can thaw it out before cooking.

When you are cutting the chicken breast, make sure to remove the skin. This will help to remove the fat and prevent it from accumulating on the chicken breast.

If you want to remove the skin from the chicken breast, do it before you marinade it. If you marinade the chicken breast without removing the skin, you will need to remove the skin after cooking.

Tips For Cleaning The George Foreman Grill

When your meal is ready, cover the plates with layers of wet paper towels for about 10 to 15 minutes. The paper towels help in loosening the gunk and sticky pieces. 

If you are going to cook a meal that will certainly cause a messy mess, you may want to spray some olive oil onto the plates before you start cooking. This will help ease cleaning in the long run. 

George Foreman’s grill comes with a handy cleaning tool that is good for unclogging the grill. The drip tray can either be put in the dishwasher or scrubbed by hand in soapy water.
